Student Learning Services

World Wide Web icon
  • Student Learning Services provide workshops and individual tutorials on a wide range of study skills, including essay writing, note-taking and time management.
  • Students can request an individual tutorial at any time during the semester to discuss a particular area of concern (e.g. organising your time, planning essays, writing better assignments, revising for exams). These tutorials are useful for students with a specific problem, or when no workshops are available or if you are not comfortable at speaking out within a group. Ask your tutor for further details, or make an appointment directly via the website.
The Little Book of Plagiarism   Student Learning Services, on behalf of the Academic Standards and Quality Assurance Committee, has been developing a resource for students to help them understand more fully what plagiarism is and how it can be avoided.

The first edition of 'The Little Book of Plagiarism' has now been finalised.  It will be rolled out in hard copy to new students at induction.
