Research interests in Chaucer, critical theory, Middle English drama, medieval virginity, feminist and queer theory and criticism, sexuality, translation theory, literature and technology, textual editing, and cultural memory. Has published on Chaucer, medieval virginity, Margery Kempe, medieval origin myths, Middle English religious drama, Derrida, romance, translation theory, translation in the Middle Ages, the representation of Jews in medieval texts, fifteenth-century courtly literature, among others. Currently completing a monograph on Chaucer for Palgrave. On the Advisory Panel of the journal Social Semiotics, and a member of Blackwell's Literature Compass editorial board. I would be interested in supervising students in the following areas: Chaucer; medieval cycle plays; literature and technology; feminist and queer theory and criticism; autobiography; medieval virginity; the cultural history of the body; translation theory and practice; textual editing; memory. |
